What’s the Difference Between Indica, Sativa and Hybrids?

Simply put, Indica affects your body and Sativa affects your head.

So don’t plan on an active day if you use Indica in the morning – it’s a sedative. Sativa is better for doing things and being creative – it’s a stimulantHybrids are a mix of Indica and Sativa. Hybrids are designed to deliver certain types of benefits of both.

Since Indica has more CBD (Cannabidiol), Indica delivers more of a sedative effect. It makes you sleepy.

Bubba Kush is a fine example of an Indica.

The other main benefits of Indica are relief of headaches and migraines, and body pain. It’s a powerful muscle relaxant that relieves spasms and reduces seizures. Anxiety or stress is controlled also. Remember, it’s best for afternoon or nighttime use.

Oh and it improves appetite. Commonly referred to as the Munchies!

Now Sativa is quite different…

Sativa has a higher THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) content. So it gets you thinking and feeling uplifted! You’re more creative, energized, focused and happy. It’s good for morning and daytime use.

Sativa is great for relieving stress, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, fatigue, low appetite, migraines, bipolar disorder and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).

A good example of Sativa is this Green Crack bud shown.

Hybrids are Marijuana Strains that are a mix of Indica and Sativa. They are paired to deliver different levels or combinations of desired effects.

Hybrids can be Indica-dominant, Sativa-dominant or even a 50/50 of each.

Blue Dream and Girl Scout Cookies are excellent Sativa Dominant Hybrid examples, offering great characteristics of Sativa and Indica.

Did you know that France and Russia had a Marijuana War?

During the War of 1812, Napoleon attacked Russia over Hemp supply. Russia was the largest producer of Hemp and it was their #1 trade commodity.

Hemp was used to manufacture Ropes, Sails, Clothing, Paper, Paint and thousands of other goods. It was one of the most important industries in the world for thousands of years. Even the word “canvas” (sail cloth) comes from the Dutch/Greek word Kannabis (Cannabis).

The other main countries involved in the War of 1812 were Great Britain, USA and Canada.

Ultimately Napoleon lost the Hemp War. Maybe because he had his hand in his breast pocket on some weed too often!
